How to Use Jasper Canvas

1. Create a New Project

There are three ways to start a new Project:

• On your Jasper dashboard, click on Create a Project OR
• Use the text field on the dashboard and describe what asset you would like to create. This will create a project and start the asset creation flow.
• Navigate to Agents on the left-hand side of the dashboard, select an Agent, and click Use Agent. This will open a Canvas where you can generate content.

2. Set Context

• Use the Project Settings at the top middle of the Canvas to define your project name, goals, and other Jasper IQ features.

3. Add Content In a Project

Using the Plus Button (+)

• Click the + button at the bottom of the screen.
• Create a blank document or upload images.

Using an agent

• Click the Agent button at the bottom of the screen.
• This will show a list of your recently used Agents.
• Click "browse all" to see all Agents.

Collaborating via Chat

• Click the Chat icon at the bottom to open Chat and request content creation.

4. Edit Assets

Refine Text

• Highlight text in an Asset or select an Asset and use the AI toolbar to enhance, rewrite, summarize, and more.
• Directly command Chat to update one or more assets in bulk.

Manual Editing

• Make manual adjustments where necessary for finer customization.

AI Toolbar

When you select one or more assets or highlight text within an asset, the AI toolbar appears. This allows you to quickly edit and refine your content using AI-powered suggestions.

Adding Comments

Right Click or Highlight

• Right-click an Asset or highlight text to access the toolbar and then select the comment icon.

Respond to Comments

• Use the reply feature to address feedback directly.

• Switch to Table Mode at the bottom right to view structured details about all Assets (name, status, owner, etc.).

Sharing a Canvas

Canvases are private by default. Currently, sharing grants full edit and comment permissions.

Share with Others

1. Click on the Share button in the top right of your Canvas.
2. Enter the email of the Jasper user you would like to share it with (Note: this user must be part of your workspace).
3. Or enter the name of the Group you would like to share it with.

Share with Workspace

1. Click on the Share button in the top right of your Canvas.
2. Toggle on/off Make this Project available to all users in [Workspace].

Troubleshooting Tips for Common Issues

Not Seeing AI Toolbar:

• Ensure you've selected an asset or text within the Canvas to activate the toolbar.

Missing Shared Items:

• Double-check sharing settings under the "Share" button to verify permissions.

Slow Performance:

• For smoother operation, clear browser cache or ensure your internet connection is stable.

Can I set different settings for individual assets?

• While Project-level settings apply context across all Assets automatically, you can override specific settings for individual assets when needed.

Is Canvas linked to Agents?

• Yes, Agents function seamlessly with Canvas, allowing you to generate and refine content while inheriting project context automatically.

How do I apply a Style Guide?

• Open an asset in focus mode, and click Brand Guidelines in the top right corner.

Can I use Jasper Chat independently?

• You can't use Chat without creating a Project. You can open and close Chat using the Jasper icon in your Canvas.

How can I create and add images with Canvas?

• Create an image using the Image Generator agent (or other image Agents) or Upload an image by clicking the + button and selecting upload.

How do I add Jasper IQ (Audiences, Voice, Knowledge, etc.)?

• You can set Jasper IQ for the entire Project via the Project settings at the top of the Canvas. Any assets created in the project will inherit these settings automatically.
