How to Use Jasper Canvas
1. Create a New Project
- There are three ways to start a new Project:
- On your Jasper dashboard/homepage, click on “Create a Project” OR
- Use the text field on the dashboard and describe what asset you would like to create. This will create that asset in a new Project OR
- Navigate to Apps on the left-hand side of the dashboard, select an App, and click “Use”. This will open that App in a new Project.
2. Set Context
- Use the Project Settings at the top middle of the Canvas to define your project name, goals, Jasper IQ , and other settings. This ensures all new assets adhere to the context automatically.
3. Add Content
- Using the Plus Button (+)
- Click the + button at the bottom of the screen.
- Create a blank document or upload images.
- Activating an app
- Click the app button at the bottom of the screen
- This will show a list of your recently used Apps.
- Click “browse all” to see all apps.
- Collaborating via Chat
- Click the Chat icon at the bottom to open Chat and request content creation.
- Using Existing Assets
- Select an existing asset to use as context for generating new content (appears as a purple chip in Chat or Apps).

- You can’t use Chat without it having a Canvas attached. You can open and close Chat using the Jasper icon in the toolbar. You can also expand it to be full screen. You can start a new conversation within a Canvas by selecting the conversation icon in the top left.
How can I create and add images with Canvas?
- Create an image using the Image Generator app (or other image Apps). Or Upload an image by clicking the + button and then browse or drag and drop the image you want to use
How do I add Jasper IQ (Audiences, Voice, Knowledge, etc.)?
- You can set Jasper IQ for assets on a Canvas via Project settings. Any new content generations will use this voice. If you want to use a different Jasper IQ aspect for a particular asset, you can apply the aspect in Chat or in App Settings. This will override the default Jasper IQ.
