User Tags for Usage Metrics

User Tags help you segment workspace users in Usage Metrics. This feature is especially useful for Admins managing large teams. By tagging users, Admins can filter usage data to get a clear picture of how different segments are using the system.

What Are User Tags?

User Tags are labels that Admins can assign to users. These tags can represent teams, regions, business units, or any other category you find useful. For example, you might tag a user as PMM and North America.

Why Use User Tags?

As your account grows and you add more users, it becomes important to segment them for better insights. User Tags let you filter usage metrics to understand how different groups are interacting with the system. This helps in making informed decisions and optimizing resource allocation.

How to Create and Manage User Tags

Only Admins can create and manage User Tags. Follow these steps to add tags:

  • Navigate to Settings > Teams > Manage tags.
  • Add tags to users, such as team names or regions.
  • Remember, you can assign multiple tags to a single user.

Tags will appear in the User Tag filter on the Usage Metrics page the next day.

Using User Tags as Filters in Usage Metrics

Once you have added tags, you can use them to filter usage data. Here is how:

  • Go to the Usage Metrics page.
  • In the User Tag filter, select the tag you want to apply.
  • Note that only one tag can be applied as a filter at a time.

This will help you segment usage data by the selected tag, offering a clearer view of how different user groups are engaging with the system.

Permissions

Only Admins have the ability to see and manage tags. Non-Admins will not see the Manage tags button or the Tag column in the table.

Availability

User Tags are live and available to all customers. Only Admins can manage tags.
