Jasper Knowledge Base is an innovative feature of Jasper AI that allows users to save and reuse content tailored to their brand voice. Jasper Knowledge has the capability to store a wide range of information, including details about products, companies, individuals, events, etc.
Your knowledge base is the container within your Jasper workspace that houses all the facts of your business and product details. Adding assets to your knowledge base is how you will provide Jasper with the information necessary to write factually about your business and products.
Jasper will automatically create a knowledge base item for you upon sign up based on your company URL (if applicable). This can be edited or deleted to create your own. Creator plans excluded.
How to Create a Knowledge Base Entry
- Navigate to the Knowledge Base on the left side of your home page
- Click "+ Add knowledge"
- Upload your information in the form of audio, image, video, and docs.
- Name your knowledge base entry
- Add custom tags for organization (optional)
- Choose visibility of the Knowledge Asset
- Click "Add to Knowledge Base"

How does knowledge work?
Jasper chunks data, finds relevant information, and uses those chunks as content for the generation of content. In Chat, context can be uploaded as a .txt file, .docx file, or PDF file. Multiple knowledge base entries can be selected to create content with multiple documents in mind. You can also save any content that you generate in chat as a knowledge asset by clicking the bookmark icon at the top right of an output, and reuse it later, which helps make content creation faster and less time-consuming.
How many knowledge base assets can I attach to Apps and Chat?
You can include up to 5 pieces of knowledge or source materials to guide content and accuracy.
Who can edit the knowledge base?
All users of Jasper can create, update, and delete knowledge they created from their knowledge base, unless otherwise specified by the admin in Permission Settings.
What are custom tags?
Custom Tags allow you to create your own tags for knowledge items. Easily search for and organize related knowledge quickly and efficiently.
What should I add to the knowledge base?
Your knowledge base is your way of giving Jasper all of the background information and context Jasper needs to know. We suggest adding any information you want Jasper to reference in your outputs. To get you started, here are the top assets we recommend you include when it comes to configuring your knowledge base:

Can I download or view my knowledge asset even after creation?
If you are the one who created the knowledge asset, you can click on the three dots to the right of the asset and view a summary of the content as well as edit the tags.
Text uploads can be edited. Documents can be downloaded, but not edited. URL uploads cannot be downloaded or edited, and therefore if you need to change the URL, we recommend deleting the Knowledge Asset and creating a new one.
