The Audiences feature in Jasper helps users create and manage audience context to generate highly-targeted, high-performing content. It allows for personalizing content to align with specific audience segments, ensuring it resonates and delivers results. Integrated with Jasper's Brand Voice and other tools, Audiences offers flexibility to define "who" the content is for and guides "how" it should communicate effectively.

How to Use the Audiences Feature

  1. Access the Audiences Panel

    • Navigate to the Audiences section in your Jasper dashboard.
  2. Create a New Audience

    • Click on the "Create Audience" button.
    • Give your Audience a name and description.
    • Set accessibility
      • Private to me
      • Anyone in your workspace
    • Add any Knowledge Assets, files, or text you would like the Audience to reference.
    • Add customer stories
    • Review the Audience details
  3. Save Your Audience

    • Once the audience details are filled, click "Save." Your Audience will be stored in Jasper for future use.
  4. Generate Content with an Audience Context

    • When creating content, select the relevant Audience from the dropdown. Jasper will use the saved context to tailor outputs specifically for that audience.
  5. Edit or Update Audiences

    • Return to the Audiences section to modify any entry. Click the ... next to the Audience name and then select "Edit".

  1. Audience Not Targeting Correctly
    • Verify that the Audience Definition and Content Guidance are detailed and accurate.
    • Ensure the correct Audience is selected during content creation.
  2. Difficulty Creating a New Audience
    • Check your plan limits for the maximum number of audiences allowed.
    • Ensure required fields are completed when setting up a new audience.
  3. Not Seeing an Update When Editing an Audience
    • Refresh the dashboard or clear browser cache if changes do not appear immediately.

Will Audiences be available through the API?

Yes, Audiences are available via API. You can retrieve your workspace Audience data via API and pass them in as an input on any API generation request. See the API documentation here.

Can Audiences be updated after creation?

Every part of the guide, from positioning statements to engagement triggers, is fully customizable in Jasper. While we assist in setting up the Audience within Jasper, once it's created, you have complete control to edit and optimize it to suit your needs.

Can I add documentation to my Audience after creation?

No, you will need to create a new Audience if you wish to include additional source documentation.
