The Audiences feature in Jasper helps users create and manage audience context to generate highly-tailored content that resonates with specific segments and drives measurable business impact.

How to Use the Audiences Feature

Access Audiences

Navigate to the Audiences section in your Jasper dashboard by clicking on Jasper IQ on the left side of the dashboard.

Create a New Audience

  1. Click on + Add Audience
  2. Give your Audience a name and description
  3. Set accessibility: Private to me, or Anyone in your workspace
  4. Add any Knowledge Assets, files, text, or URLs you would like to be referenced
  5. Add customer stories
  6. Review the Audience details

Save Your Audience

Once the audience details are filled, click Generate. Your Audience will be stored in Jasper for future use.

Generate Content with an Audience Context

In Chat: Click Select an Audience above the text box.

For an individual Asset: Click Choose Audience at the top of the page.

For all Assets in a Project: Navigate to the Project Settings at the top of the Project and select your desired Audience.

Edit or Update Audiences

Return to Audiences to modify. Click ... next to the Audience name and then select Edit.

Set a Default Workspace Audience

The Default Workspace Audience feature allows you to set a preferred audience for your workspace, ensuring that all AI-generated content is tailored to the right target audience by default.

How to set Default Workspace Audience

  1. Click on the workspace name in the top left corner.
  2. Click on Workspace Settings.
  3. Click Generation Defaults.
  4. Select your audience from the drop-down menu under Default Workspace Audience.
  5. Click Save.

Your default Audience will be automatically applied to all AI generations in the Workspace. Users are able to override the default by selecting a different Audience when creating content.

Troubleshooting Tips

Audience Not Targeting Correctly

  • Verify that the Audience Definition and Content Guidance are detailed and accurate.
  • Ensure the correct Audience is selected during content creation.

Difficulty Creating a New Audience

  • Check your plan limits for the maximum number of audiences allowed.
  • Ensure required fields are completed when setting up a new audience.

Not Seeing an Update When Editing an Audience

  • Refresh the dashboard or clear browser cache if changes do not appear immediately.

A: ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) defines the ideal organization or individual target at a high level. Audiences segment the target based on shared characteristics for scalable marketing strategies. Personas are more granular fictional representations of key individuals within an audience.

Q: Can I upload materials to inform audience creation?
A: You can easily upload websites, PDFs, or files with audience details, and Jasper takes care of the rest.

Q: Will Audiences be available through the API?
A: Yes, Audiences are available via API. You can retrieve your workspace Audience data via API and pass it through content generation calls. Learn more here.

Q: Can I add documentation to my Audience after creation?
A: No, you will need to create a new Audience if you wish to include additional source documentation.
