What Is Product IQ?

Product IQ is the part of Jasper IQ that owns product truth. Define each product once: its specs, claims, pricing, differentiators, approved messaging and regulatory disclaimers. Jasper pulls the right attributes at the moment of generation, so every output is accurate, on-brand, compliant, and built to sell, at catalog scale.

Without a structured source of truth, every generation relies on manual input: inconsistent output, repeated fact-checking and brand risk. High-performing product content needs two things at once, accurate information and effective messaging. Product IQ governs the accuracy and works with the rest of Jasper IQ for the messaging, so every output is on-claim and on-brand.

How Product IQ fits into Jasper IQ:

  • Brand Voice: Defines how your brand writes, including tone, style and personality.
  • Audiences: Defines who you are writing for by capturing personas, segments or markets.
  • Knowledge Base: Stores broader company information: FAQs, competitive positioning and key messaging. Jasper draws on accurate facts instead of generic information.
  • Style Guide: Workspace admin-defined rules for grammar and formatting.
  • Visual Guidelines: Captures your brand's visual identity to keep image prompts and creative briefs consistent.
  • Product IQ: Stores product-specific context: specs, claims, differentiators and approved terminology. Every generation is factually correct and on-message.

What Product IQ Helps You Do

Add product-specific context at the source. Enter product details once. Jasper references that context in every generation that touches those products, with no manual lookups or copy-pasting.

Improve accuracy and consistency. Content is generated from structured attributes, not inference. Hallucinated specs, incorrect pricing and off-claim messaging are replaced with verified, governed product information.

Support teams managing multiple products. Product IQ scales across your full catalog. Access varies by plan: Pro plans include up to 25 products and Business plans are unlimited. Define your products once, and Jasper applies the right context to the right product in every workflow.

Govern messaging across channels and markets. One consistent, compliant product story flows across landing pages, campaigns, email and social, regardless of who on the team is generating content.

How Product IQ Works

When you add a product entry to Product IQ, Jasper uses that context during content generation. Rather than relying on general knowledge, Jasper pulls the specific attributes you have defined: claims, disclaimers, specs, differentiators and approved terminology.

Product IQ works alongside the other Jasper IQ components. A generation can draw on your Brand Voice for tone, your Audience profile for targeting, your Style Guide for formatting rules and your Product IQ entry for product accuracy, all at once.

Tip: Product IQ is most effective when each entry is complete and current. Verified claims, accurate specs and approved terminology in the entry produce more accurate and compliant output.

How to Create a Product IQ Item

  1. Navigate to Product IQ in your Jasper workspace.
  2. Click "Add product" to start a new product entry. Jasper analyzes your Knowledge Base and available web sources to draft your workspace's product schema, then populates attributes for each entry so you start with structure, not a blank page. You can also paste a product URL directly; when adding multiple products, Jasper can crawl the site and generate several entries at once.

Note: Your workspace has one product schema, defining the attribute structure applied across all product entries. Individual entries share the same schema but hold their own attribute values.

  1. Open the drafted entry and review the auto-populated fields. Empty fields indicate the source did not surface that attribute, not that the information doesn't exist.
  2. Fill any gaps by selecting Edit product details, then adding or swapping context sources (URL, file, text or PRD) and re-mapping the attributes.
  3. Add custom attributes and usage instructions where needed, so Jasper applies them correctly during generation.
  4. Have the product owner review and verify key fields, particularly claims, disclaimers and specs, before using it in your workflows.
  5. Save the entry and reference it in your generation workflows via Chat, Task Agents, Grid, or the MCP connection outside of Jasper.

Tip: Start with your best-documented products. A clean, verified first set builds trust in the output quickly and gives the product owner a clear baseline to work from.

Best Practices

Assign a single owner. Product Marketing is typically the right fit. One accountable owner reviews entries, keeps attributes current and approves schema changes as the catalog evolves.

Focus on the attributes you sell on. Prioritize the fields that appear in customer-facing content: claims, disclaimers, key differentiators, approved taglines and pricing. Populate supporting fields once the critical ones are verified.

Use consistent terminology. Match the exact terms used in your approved messaging. Variations in product names, claim language or spec formats will surface in generated output.

Keep entries current. Set a recurring review cadence, especially when product specs, pricing or regulatory requirements change. Outdated attributes in Product IQ produce outdated content.

Scale after verifying. Confirm the schema and key attributes on your first set of products before bulk-creating the rest of the catalog. A verified schema is faster and cleaner to replicate at scale.

FAQs

What do I have available with my plan?

Pro plans include up to 25 products, and Business plans are unlimited.

How is Product IQ different from Knowledge Base?

Knowledge Base stores broader company information: FAQs, competitive positioning and general brand facts. Product IQ is structured specifically for product context: specs, claims, pricing, differentiators and approved terminology, organized per product so Jasper can apply the right attributes to the right generation. Use Knowledge Base for company-wide information and Product IQ for product-specific truth.

When should I use Product IQ?

Use Product IQ whenever content needs to reference accurate product details. Common use cases include product descriptions, campaign copy, landing pages, email promotions, social posts and multi-channel campaigns. If a generation involves a specific product and accuracy matters, Product IQ should be in the workflow.

Can I use Product IQ with other Jasper IQ features?

Yes. Product IQ is designed to work alongside Brand Voice, Audiences, Knowledge Base, Style Guide and Visual Guidelines. A single generation can draw on all relevant Jasper IQ components at once: tone from Brand Voice, targeting from Audiences, formatting from Style Guide and product accuracy from Product IQ. Configure each component in Jasper IQ, then reference the relevant ones in your workflow.
