Overview: What Are Knowledge Connectors?

Knowledge Connectors let you link folders from Google Drive or Microsoft SharePoint directly to your Jasper Knowledge Base, creating a single source of truth. Once connected, Jasper automatically syncs files from those folders — so your knowledge stays current without manual uploads.

Key Benefits

  • Automatic synchronization — Any changes to your connected Google Drive or SharePoint folders (updates, new files, renames, deletions) are automatically reflected in your Knowledge Base.
  • Native collaborative asset support — Connect Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and SharePoint documents directly, without exporting to other formats first.
  • Faster setup — Bulk import entire folders of company assets at once instead of uploading files one by one.
  • Single source of truth — Manage your knowledge in your existing file storage system while Jasper stays in sync.

Setting Up Your First Connector

Only Admins can set up and manage Knowledge Connectors.

  1. Navigate to your Knowledge Base.
  2. Click Add Knowledge.
  3. Select From external source.
  4. Select the integration you want to connect (Google Drive or SharePoint).
  5. Once authorized, select the specific folder you want to sync.
  6. Click Add to Knowledge Base.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sources can I connect?

Google Drive and Microsoft SharePoint.

Will Jasper make changes to my files?

No. Knowledge Connectors are a one-way connection. Jasper only reads your files and will never modify or delete anything in your cloud storage.

How often does the Knowledge Base sync?

Syncing happens automatically. When Jasper detects a change in your connected folder, it reprocesses the Knowledge item within 1-10 minutes.

What happens if I delete a file in my connected folder?

The associated Knowledge item will be removed from Jasper within approximately 3 hours.

Can I sync nested folders?

Only files in the root folder are synced. To sync sub-folders, set up separate connectors for each one.

How do I disconnect a folder?

Click Manage connections in your Knowledge Base, find the connection, click ..., and select Delete. All knowledge from that source will be removed.

What if a sync fails?

Failed files are marked with a processing error status. Hover over the status on the Knowledge Base page to see the failure reason.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Jasper requests read-only access and only stores the content and basic metadata (file names, dates) needed to function. Your source files are never modified.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter a sync issue, check the following:

  • Permissions — Confirm Jasper still has access to your Google Drive or SharePoint account. Corporate security settings can sometimes revoke access. Try reconnecting the source.
  • Folder access — Verify the account used to set up the connection still has access to the synced folder.
