This setup is for export from Canvas and Grid. Studio Task Agents use the other connection.
Summary
To integrate with Workfront, Adobe requires its own authentication and authorization. More detail is in Adobe’s Workfront Authentication Guide.
Jasper uses two layers:
- Workspace-level Workfront credentials: Client ID and Client Secret.
- Each person’s own Workfront login. Workfront actions run as that person.
Create the Workfront OAuth2 application
The following steps are performed by an Adobe Workfront administrator.
A Workfront administrator can create OAuth2 applications for the Workfront instance. Those applications let another product, such as Jasper, access Workfront after each person allows it.
Creating the application generates a Client ID and a Client Secret. Jasper’s workspace setup uses the credentials from an Adobe Workfront OAuth2 web application. This is OAuth 2.0 authorization code.
- In Adobe Workfront, click the Main Menu icon in the upper-right corner, then click Setup.
- In the left navigation panel, click System, then select OAuth2 Applications.
- Click Create app integration.
- In the New OAuth2 application box, select Web Application. Enter a name, such as Workfront for Jasper. Click Create.
- Fill in the fields for the new app, including these redirect URLs:
- Save the generated Client ID and Client Secret. These credentials are required when enabling the integration in Jasper.
Turn it on for the Jasper workspace
The following steps are performed by a Jasper administrator or developer.
In Jasper:
- Navigate to Team integrations in your Workspace Settings.
- Toggle on the integration for Adobe Workfront. Click Save.
- Enter the Workfront configuration details (Client ID, Client Secret, Subdomain, Version). This sets up the Jasper workspace-level Workfront credentials. For Subdomain, enter the full URL of your Workfront instance (for example https://subdomain.my.workfront.com). Click Save to store the configuration.
- Workfront is enabled for the entire workspace.
Connect your Workfront account
The following steps are performed by a Jasper user.
In Jasper:
- Navigate to Integrations in your Workspace Settings.
- Toggle on the integration for Adobe Workfront.
- A Workfront login window will open.
- Sign in with your own Workfront credentials (for example name@domain.com) and click Allow access.
- Once authenticated, your account will be connected and ready to use in Jasper.
Export from Jasper to Workfront
- In Canvas or Grid, select your document(s) and then select Export.
- Ensure Adobe Workfront is toggled on. If not, complete the setup above.
- Select Adobe Workfront as your integration.
- Follow the instructions to complete the export process.
Choose what to export
When you export to Workfront, you decide how the content reaches your team. Three options:
- Link to the Jasper doc. A link to the document in Jasper is added to the task’s comments, so reviewers or editors can open the file. This fits people who edit in Jasper.
- Attached file. Adds a file to the Workfront task or project documents folder. This fits teams that use Workfront’s proofing tools to review and mark up content. A link to the doc in Jasper is also added to the task’s comments.
- Save to cloud storage. The content is saved to connected cloud storage such as Google Drive, SharePoint, or Box. A link is added to the task as a comment, plus a link to the Jasper doc. This fits teams that keep final assets in a central library.
Export destination in Workfront
When exporting to Workfront, you can send content to either:
- A project’s documents folder, for assets that belong to the project as a whole.
- A task’s documents folder, for assets tied to a specific deliverable in a project.
Availability
The Adobe Workfront integration is available for Business plan customers. A Jasper Admin or Developer role is required for workspace setup. All users can connect their individual accounts once the workspace is configured.
